Your Body Mass Index (BMI) is a measure to help assess if you're at a healthy weight and if weight loss is necessary. It can calculate the amount of fat your body consists of and help you decide what is a healthy weight for you.
If your Body Mass Index is 27.3 or higher, you are defined as overweight.
If your Body Mass Index is 27.8 or higher, you are defined as overweight.
If you know how much of your weight is made up of fat, it can help you determine the amount of fat loss you need to achieve as opposed to just simple weight loss. Many people choose to use their Body Mass Index as their measurement for their diet and weight loss goals.
